New CMS Options

In order to provide more control over how the site evaluation is handled, we’ve added in some extra CMS options that will control how some of the evaluation is done.

These new options can be found in “KC:Web” -> “Available Options” -> “Multi KC” tab.

These new options are:

Use Order Address for Site Evaluation

This controls whether the website should use the current order address when deciding what site the website should be operating from.

With this disabled, a “North” customer that has an order being delivered to a “South” address would still have the order go through the “North” site in Khaos Control and therefore the “North” distribution centre.

With this option enabled, the order’s delivery address will be used, and therefore that same customer’s order would be assigned to the “South” site in Khaos Control instead, and would be handled by the “South” distribution centre.

Address Type

This controls what type of address should be used when deciding what site the website should be operating from.

If this is set to “Invoice Address” then only addresses with the type of “Invoice” will be taken into account when evaluating the site. For example, if a “North” customer had an order with a “South” delivery address, the order would still go through the “North” site as it would be looking at the “North” invoice address when evaluating it.

If this option is set to “Delivery Address” then only addresses with a type of “Delivery” will be taken into account when evaluating the site. Using the same example as above, the website would now use the “South” delivery address for evaluation, and the order would go through the “South” site in Khaos Control.

Address Selection Order

This option controls the order that addresses are looked through in order to find the relevant address to use for evaluation.

If this option is set to “First Address” then the addresses will be checked in the order they were added to the account, and the first Invoice/Delivery address to be found (based on what the “Address Type” option is set to) will be used for site evaluation.

If this option is set to “Most Recently Added” then the addresses will be checked in the reverse order, checking the most recently added first. This gives the advantage that if a customer moves and adds a new address to their account, that one will be used for the evaluation, rather than their old one.

New Courier Group Options

There are a couple of new settings that have been added to the “Courier Group” options in the CMS, which can be found in “KC:Web” -> “Available Options” ->  “General” tab -> “Courier Group” sub-tab.

These options are:

Restrict to only this Courier Group when active

This option restricts the available Courier Groups show to the customer to only this Courier Group if the current sales order has this Courier Group set against it.

This means that if KC auto-selects this Courier Group then the customer won’t be able to change it to a different one, allowing orders to be forced to use a certain Courier Group under specific circumstances.

Force To Site

This option forces all orders with this Courier Group to be assigned to the specified Site in Khaos Control.

Site Evaluation Hierarchy Changes

The website will now use the following hierarchy when deciding what site to use for stock levels, orders, etc:

  1. Forced sites from Courier Group options for the current order.
  2.  “Default Site” option set against the customer record.
  3. The current order’s address, either Invoice or Delivery depending on the CMS option.
  4. The customer’s address, either the first or most recent Invoice or Delivery address, depending on the CMS options.
