Static Content

The website uses several pieces of Static Content within the theme to allow for easier editing of text, so full theme updates are not required.
Here is a list of the Static Content and where it is used:
- Static Content - Register Reasons: This Static Content contains the reasons a customer should create an account. It is used on the main login/register page, the checkout login page, as well as the billing/shipping checkout stage for guest customers.

- Static Content - Registration Privacy Text: This Static Content contains the privacy policy text used at the bottom of the register page, which currently has placeholder text in it.

- Static Content – Shipping Zone Hover: This Static Content contains the text within the information hover element next to “Shipping Zone” in the basket/checkout sidebar.

- Static Content - My VW Info - For Today: This Static Content contains the text within the information hover element next to the “Save For Today” button within the “My VWs” popup.

- Static Content – My VW Info – My VWs: This Static Content contains the text within the information hover element next to the “Save To My VWs” button within the “My VWs” popup.

- Static Content - Home Page Address: This Static Content contains the address, etc used on the home page, next to the map.

- Static Content – Quote: This Static Content contains the quote used on the home page and the VW Info pages.

- Static Content - Header Contact Us: This Static Content contains the contact us text within the header.

NOTE: I’ve added translated versions of this Static Content as an example of how to set them up.

- Static Content - Footer Company Numbers: This Static Content contains the VAT Registration Number and the Company Registration Number used within the footer.

- Static Content - USP List: This Static Content contains the text used in the USP list at the bottom of the “SHOP” menu, and the top of the Basket page.

NOTE: The “Free Shipping” part of this is handled by the “KCW Free Delivery” widget within the “Widgets for Shortcodes” section.

Home Page

Most of the home page content is generated by the template, loading blog posts, team member items, menus, static content, etc. However, the top image and the slider below it are controlled from within the home page’s content and can be edited by logging into the CMS and going to “Pages” -> “All Pages” and then editing the “Home” page.

There are 2 elements within the home page content:

- The header image: This is a simple image element within a div element that has the class of “header-image”

- Slider: The slider consists of a main container div element with the individual “slides” inside it. Each “slide” has a link to the category page for the vehicle, and inside that is the background image for the slide and a “title” to display at the bottom
